Hey Matt,

I make these loops on an electric kit and the one thing electric kits suck at is emulating the sound of brushes on a snare drum. I don't have the equipment to record acoustic drums right now but you could try sampling some of that Ray Charles stuff if you can. Find a bar or two where it's just snare, chop it out of the song, loop it and play over it.

Good luck and thanks for the compliments.

This is great, well designed site, good format. Any chance of you using just a real snare and brushes. If you get a chance check out some Ray Charles in the mid 5o's, it's just him, piano, stand up bass and a single snare for the entire album..it's heavy and very under-rated. Thanks for your works.
